Dave Pope, the founder and Managing Director of Discovery Road, has over eighteen years experience in direct sales, senior management and sales training . He has also been involved in call centre start ups and developments and been instrumental in culture change and performance improvement for several organisations. Dave's main area of passion and motivation is improving sales and customer service through the development of front line sales staff and managers using the now legendary " Sales Discovery Programme.
Andy Powers is a trained actor who can offer Discovery Road customers something a little different albeit very effective. Andy has appeared in several episodes of The Bill and Crimewatch plus advertisements for Eastenders – keep your eye out for him in “The Queen Vic “one day. Andy has also featured in many TV and radio adverts as well as starring in several London stage shows.
Andy is also a Sales and Service specialist with a comprehensive and impressive background in face to face and telephone sales training programmes. As well as being involved in the Discovery Road Sales programmes, Andy is available for hire as a Role playing Actor.
Andy’s flexible, convincing and realistic acting skills can be used to simulate a variety of real life scenarios that your staff may be uncomfortable or reluctant to fulfil. Andy will energise and inspire any sales training programme and has the flexibility and patience to make the most out of the time spent with you.
Richard Gould has over 25years experience in the call centre industry and heads up our technical team.
Starting his career with BT, he was involved in all aspects of installation and maintenance, including structured cabling and Cat 5 installations.
After a brief period with CR Telecom continuing Cat 5 and LAN installations he moved on to Premises Networks Management.
Working as a Customer Support Engineer, Richard was based a British Gas, Solihull as part of PNM’s maintenance contract. He was responsible for the Ericsson MD110 system and BT Featurenet which covered their extensive Call Centre. As well as being part of the management team responsible for all major office restructuring he also covered all the PC moves and changes.
Moving into the field he became part of a team responsible for upgrading 120 plus Network Rail sites involving software and hardware installations. This involved travelling countrywide for 18 months working
to strict guidelines.
After leaving Premises Networks in 2007 Richard joined a successful IT team at T-Mobile in Hatfield where he was responsible for the day to day administration/maintenance of their MD110 switch and 20 remote sites.
Richard is also trained on Mitel’s major switches as well as voice mail systems and Call Centre management servers.
